Brooks’ Pond is a special place for me. I grew up right down the street.  I spent a good deal of time there, mostly either fishing for goldfish or skinny dipping. At the time there weren’t many ducks on the pond like there are today. In a desert city like St. George, Brooks’ Pond was an oasis to an active youngster.  It’s still very beautiful and the ducks are more plentiful now.  Between the ducks, the water, and the cattails, painting there is a real treat. Because of my deep familiarity with the place, this is one of my favorite paintings.
