The Autumn leaves are some of my favorite subjects to paint. The leaves change a little bit differently in the arid desert states. Where in many places the foilage all changes colors at one time, in the desert, changes come one after another in most years, and of course they overlap to some degree. Most years, where I live, the maple reds come first, followed by the aspen and cottonwood yellows, then the orange oak brush.
